Judy Moody by Megan McDonald

Judy Moody is one of my all time favorite children’s book characters. She is quirky, precocious and tons of fun.  Her latest adventure, Judy Moody Girl Detective is a must read for Judy fans. It’s also a good way to introduce young readers to the mystery genre.  Judy Moody has been reading her way through the original Nancy Drew novels.  Convinced she is the next Nancy Drew – Judy Drewdy – if you will; Judy goes in search of a mystery to solve. First she solves the mystery of the stolen gummies (Stink), then she solves the case of the stolen teacher glasses (only they weren’t stolen) and finally she is presented with a real live mystery – the case of the missing police dog.  When Mr. Chips, police dog in training, goes missing, it’s up to Judy and her friends to crack the case.  Fans of Judy and fans of Nancy will enjoy this hilarious adventure.  Kids (and parents) who enjoy the Nancy Drew mysteries will recognize the many Nancy Drewisms sprinkled throughout this latest Moody adventure.
Available at Pikes Peak Library, Barnes Noble, Borders and Amazon.com.

  3. I think Maya has only listened to Judy Moody books on tape. She may get a couple more for Christmas. Azaria (6) likes them also!
